Panel
Discussion On Early Energy Management Features Assessment
- (11/6/04)
The
MIEEIP recently organised a panel discussion to discuss the
possibility of introducing an early energy management concept
for the industrial sector, through a mechanism known as energy
efficient features assessment for new industrial facilities.
Representatives of various government and professional bodies
attended the session on 20 May 2004 and suggested, among others,
that such a mechanism be modelled after the Environmental
Impact Assessment or introduced as standards for designer's
reference. The feedback from participants will be used to
prepare a paper on the proposed mechanism for review by the
authorities, the professional bodies and other parties.
NPC
and PTM to synergise their efforts - 20/04/04
The National Productivity Corporation (NPC) hosted a high
level meeting between its Director General Ir. Mah Lok Abdullah
and the Chief Executive Officer of Pusat Tenaga Malaysia (PTM),
Dr. Anuar Abdul Rahman to discuss potential synergies in assisting
Malaysian industries through benchmarking. At the meeting
on 16 April 2004, they reflected on the existing collaboration
between the organisations and the scope for future synergies
that would add strength to their respective work on productivity
improvement and energy conservation in Malaysia. Further discussions
between the two organisations will focus on easier accessibility
to energy information, networking, reporting and dissemination.
Besides the various web-based tools and publications, seminars
will also allow participating companies to share their success
stories.
